R3el Joins the Footage Community at FootageFest

Aug 21 2025

We’re packing our reels and heading west — R3el is joining filmmakers, archivists, and rights holders at FootageFest 2025 in Los Angeles!

Our team will be in LA from September 22–27 and available to meet throughout the week. If you’re attending the conference, you can find us at the R3el table in the Exhibit Hall on Friday and Saturday, the perfect time to stop by, say hello, and explore our historic clip library. We’re proud to represent both R3el (our clip sales division) and R3store Studios (our restoration and digitization team) at one of the archive industry’s most important gatherings.

Attend FootageFest

FootageFest has quickly become a place where filmmakers, rights holders, archivists, and media leaders come together to shape the conversations driving our industry forward.
Across three days in LA (September 25–27, 2025), the program dives into the issues that matter most right:

•    AI in Archives — legal rulings, ethics, and the future of rights
•    Music Plagiarism & Soundalikes — navigating originality and copyright
•    Digital Doubles — the rise of likeness rights and AI-generated personas
•    Historic case studies — including O.J. Simpson news coverage and its impact on live journalism
•    Practical workshops — on licensing, LinkedIn branding, and monetizing archive content

It’s more than a conference, it’s where the film world connects, debates, and discovers new opportunities together.
Tickets are available now at FootageFest.com

UV&S Sponsors the AI in Archives Panel

As part of our ongoing commitment to supporting our community, UV&S is sponsoring one of FootageFest’s headline sessions:
A.I. in Archives: Legal Battles & Ethical Dilemmas
Friday, September 26, 11:30am – 12:30pm

This session will explore how AI is reshaping the archive world, from landmark legal rulings that are redefining rights, to the real-world challenges of monetizing collections with AI, and the emerging protocols being developed to guide the industry’s future.

For UV&S, the subject of AI isn’t new. As our VP of Technology & Innovation, Dan Reisig, recently co-authored a book on AI in business, we’re deeply engaged in helping organizations understand and apply this technology responsibly. That same spirit of innovation and expertise is reflected in our sponsorship of this panel — supporting the discussions that will shape how archives interact with AI in the years to come. If you’re attending, mark your calendar, this is the panel you can’t afford to miss.

R3el: Unlocking History Through Clip Sales

Imagine seeing the world through the lens of history: the NASA 70mm 4K Collection, bustling streets of Paris and New York, rare views of Vintage Afghanistan, or the cultural heartbeat of Soho 1997. At R3el, our library is filled with moments like these — authentic, historic clips that bring depth and context to any story.

Unlike traditional stock services, these aren’t generic images. They are owned collections, preserved and digitized so they can be shared in documentaries, feature films, broadcasts, exhibitions, or digital campaigns.
Every clip in R3el’s archive is a window into the past, ready to inspire the stories of today. Whether you’re seeking historic film clips for documentaries, archival footage licensing for broadcast, or cultural content to enrich your storytelling, explore our collections to see how history can enrich your next project.
