Transcoding & Encoding

Transcoding & Encoding; and the difference

We have always used both services interchangeably. While encoding and transcoding both represent differing ways of converting files between formats, there is a distinct difference. Encoding takes a tape source and converts it into any file format required.  In contrast, transcoding takes an existing digital format and converts it to a different digital format, as is the case when you take a Flash video and convert it to an adaptive bit-rate format such as Live-Streaming.

It is not only the skill and technique exhibited by our team that has made us the professionals choice for restoration and archive projects. In working with many of the smaller archives, communication, delivery dates and service are among the most important requests. With a clear and defined process; our team stands out from the other restoration houses involved in film to digital delivery.
