On Thursday 25th May The R3Store Studios Team attended the 14th Annual Focal Awards at The Lancaster London Hotel and enjoyed a fantastic night catching up with some old friends and making some new ones.
The awards evening itself was hosted by the brilliantly funny Hardeep Singh Kohli and the night was a celebration of some of the amazing work that has been done in the world of archive over the previous 12 months.
FOCAL deserve a lot of credit for the work they do during the year promoting and helping the archive industry but in particular for the Annual Awards, which are a great chance for people within the industry to meet and catch up.
The Awards night always brings together a collection of hugely talented people into one room — and provides our industry with a real reminder of some of the great work that is out there, and can be done through the medium of archive.
We were lucky enough to host 3 winners on our table – James Hunt & Paul Bell from Dog and Duck Productions who won “Best use of Footage on other Platforms” for their film on Terrance Donovan.
Simon Wood from ITN Source who accepted the “Footage Employee of The Year” award on behalf of himself and his team.
Fiona Maxwell and Doug Weir from The BFI who won “Best Archive Restoration / Preservation” for the work the BFI did on the film Napoleon.
R3Store Studios are a big supporter of all that FOCAL do — and we look forward to the 15th awards next year! See all the winning entries here.
